7 Wonders of World

The New 7 Wonders of the World is a fabulous collection of amazing architectures around the world. Millions of people travel from one part of the world to another to have glimpse of 7 wonders of the world for once in a lifetime and to adorn their beauty, architecture and learn about the mysterious things about them. The result of new 7 wonders of world came on July, 2007. It was broadcast in Lisbon, Portugal.

And in the year 2009, a new campaign was started just to choose these 7 wonders of world (man-made). Art-lovers, travellers, people of various countries came forward and took a participation in the poll with full enthusiasm and voted for their personal favorite like. Jury consisted of judges from various countries and was formed in year 2006. Over 100 million votes came from different parts of the world for the selection of new 7 wonders of world.

This process of selecting and nominating the 7 Wonders of world was started by Philon of Byzantium somewhere in 200 B.C. The chosen list served as a travel guide for people of Athens. The selected sites were man-made and situated in the Mediterranean Sea basin. Unfortunately, out of these sites, only one survives today and that is amazing Pyramids of Egypt. The others were: the Temple of Artemis, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, the Statue of Zeus, Colossus of Rhodes, Colossus of Rhodes, and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and
